Our society is becoming more health conscious as we learn more about the foods we eat and how they affect our bodies. At Gallins, our To Your Health options in our cold food machines and our Heart Smart program for our snack machines provide healthier alternatives and help combat the stereotype that vending machines only offer junk food. At a recent Health Fair at Banner Pharmacaps, we educated four shifts of employees on the various healthy items available to them in our vending machines. To further educate employees, and as an added incentive for employees to make healthier choices, Banner agreed to subsidize all Heart Smart items purchased from the snack machines for a limited time. This will allow employees to save money on these items, improving their chances of trying new items and hopefully integrating these healthier items into their normal eating habits. A healthy employee is a happier, more productive employee, so we are continually adapting to provide new and better options for customers to keep them healthy and happy.
