Improving Efficiency
October 18, 2011
We're utilizing technology to improve the service we provide to vending customers, which may not seem like something new to those of you who have been with us for awhile. However, this is a newer form of technology that allows us to be more efficient in servicing the many vending machines we visit on a regular basis. This system, known as pre-kitting, enables us to use the sales information from each vending machine to determine how many of each item needs to be placed in each machine. We then prepare boxes for each machine containing the correct amount of each product needed for the following day. Our route service personnel are then able to work much faster because they walk into a location already knowing what rows need to be filled in each machine. This system allows for faster service without sacrificing quality, and it actually improves the selection available in our machines. By analyzing sales data, we can determine which products are popular, resulting in more of that particular product in a machine, as well as which products are not selling and should be replaced. While this system greatly improves our efficiency, we continue to seek out ways to further improve upon the quality of our products, our services, and our commitment to "Satisfying America's Appetite".
